Patient Care Technician Job Description
This position requires a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to work under nursing supervision in our Medical Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will be able to assist patients with daily activities, observe patient progress, and obtain vital signs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work under nursing supervision to provide basic patient care
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs
- Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to the Registered Nurse
- Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties
Requirements
- Completed some high school education
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
