Job Description:
This position manages the auction’s transportation function and directs, plans, supervises, and coordinates the efficient pick-up, delivery, and movement of customer vehicles to and from the auction while providing quality service to auction customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the transportation of all assigned vehicles to and from the auction by planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the driver schedules and overall transportation activity ensuring the timely delivery of all units.
- Work closely with subcontractors and manage vendor relationships.
- Determine and make use of the most efficient, timely, and cost-effective means of transporting customer vehicles utilizing all available equipment and resources.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records, maintenance schedules, license records, etc.
- Review and analyze expenditures and financials for Transportation department.
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate job performance of employees within Transportation department.
- Conduct timely performance appraisals with all direct reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Dispatch or relevant automobile industry experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interaction skills required.
- 1 Year of supervisory experience required.
- Strong management and organizational skills required.
- Computer and software knowledge, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven problem-solving capability.
- Valid drivers’ license and good driving record required.
