Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Manager to oversee the dietary department at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center . The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of food service operations, ensuring that residents receive nutritious and appealing meals tailored to their dietary needs. This role requires a strong leader who can effectively coordinate with staff, develop care plans, and implement health coaching strategies to enhance the well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Works with regional manager and dietitian.
- Meets and does evaluations to assess residents' nutritional needs and preferences and records them in the EMR.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address specific dietary requirements, including tube feeding when necessary.
- Oversee budgeting for food services, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and inventory management.
- Lead and train dietary staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality service delivery.
- Monitor meal preparation and presentation to ensure high standards of quality and safety are maintained.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive health coaching to residents regarding their dietary choices.
- Maintain accurate records of dietary services, including resident preferences and special dietary needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing a dietary department within an nursing home or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of nutrition principles and dietary practices related to various health conditions.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management related to food services.
- Knowledge of tube feeding protocols and experience in implementing them as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on interpersonal interactions with residents and staff.
- Ability to develop care plans that align with individual resident needs while promoting overall health and wellness.
- Must be CDM, CFPP or CFM certified.
