Product Development Engineer IV
New Bern, NC / Full-time
Your Responsibilities
- As GED RNA global expert partners within GED global organization, drive clear, consumer-centric prioritization/ decision making via BSH innovation and development processes steering committee
- Aligns cross-category/ cross-functional GED activities to smooth out RNA Digital Operations:
- Coordinates with regional category multipliers, functional leaders and product teams in the development of the GED global portfolio/ specifications and the continuous improvement of operational challenges/ issues (e.g. features, digital hardware, systems, etc.)
- Partners with cross-functional teams to provide an in-depth understanding of current digital functionality/ limitations while bringing transparency to future capabilities and opportunities like the Home Connect eco-system
- Partners with regional Strategy, Innovation and Agile Leads/Coaches to align the business for agility and “feasible” value creation via the application of UX, Agile and Consumer-Driven Innovation teams, methods and tools
- Works with technical teams (Gxx, Pxx, Cxx) to scout, road map and maintain the necessary operational capabilities & systems to support projects/activities internal to BSH and with external eco-system partners
- Coordinates with global digital (Gxx, Cxx) and divisional (Pxx) leaders/ teams to identify RNA operational needs and provide early/ iterative feedback to ensure capabilities/ requirements are met in time
- Using strong presentation and negotiating skills to present new product ideas and concepts
- Communicate the project needs and timelines to all of the project stakeholders.
- Providing open communication between Marketing, Sales, Industrial design, Technical Product Management and Development is essential for success.
- Build a strong relationship with the pre-development groups.
- Monitor our competition, the market trends, and use this analysis to prepare ideas for future product launches
- Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Interior Design, Architecture) – Required
- Master's Degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Interior Design, Architecture) – Preferred
- 10 Years of Experience (Project Mgmt, Product Mgmt, Strategy, Consulting, Marketing, digital concepts/services) – Required
- Excellent written and verbal skill
- Experience in digital business models within appliance industry
- Strong analytical skills and logic mindedness
- Experience working with Luxury Brands
- Must be team oriented and flexible.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to travel internationally.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people up to and including executive level personnel.
- Strong Negotiation skills.
- Must be able to work well with people in other departments under difficult and sometimes stressful circumstances.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision, handle multiple tasks and be prompt in meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of Innovation Management and development processes a plus.
- Project Management, Product Management or Interior Design experience preferred.
- Experience in Innovation Management Projects a plus.
- Experience with cost evaluation a plus.
- SAP, MSWord and MS Project experience preferred.
- Travel Percentage – 50%
