Position Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, Marketing and Communications, the Membership Communications and Delivery Manager is responsible for a wide range of activities related to 1) the targeting, marketing and recruiting of new companies to join as BSR members, and 2) the delivery of high-quality member service to our companies, specifically through communicating our relevant content, events, advisory services and opportunities to collaborate.
The position is part of a global Marketing and Communications team, which currently has staff based in San Francisco, New York, Portland, and Paris. The manager will also directly support the Chief Impact Officer in terms of membership strategy, engagement and delivery. The team works closely with all parts of the organization, particularly membership engagement, issue experts, industry leads, and BSR collaborations.
This position is remote/hybrid with preference for New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Curating content exclusively available to BSR's 300 member companies in its member content portal.
- Managing direct member communications and marketing campaigns.
- Aggregating insights and other data points from BSR's member engagement teams (includes tracking inbound member questions) and using the intelligence to inform the development of editorial content, events, and other engagement opportunities which add value to the member network.
- Managing and supporting member events, including webinars, in-person meetings, industry specific member webinars.
- Editorial management of BSR's quarterly membership briefing, ensuring a high standard of quality control (i.e. working with engagement teams to coordinate and curate content, editing and proofreading, working with designer on final product).
- Developing target lists, campaigns, supporting collateral materials to market BSR membership to potential members.
- Manage and schedule recruiting calls for potential new members.
- Serve as internal point person for membership-related questions.
Compensation
At BSR we have implemented a transparent total compensation framework with an emphasis on internal equity. In order to maintain our equity, our hiring rate for this position is listed below.
US: $104,099
Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years of work experience in a communications & marketing and strategic event planning role or membership account management; a background in business and sustainability strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with emphasis on the creation of messages and content that will resonate with a business audience. Being able to ensure technical content is delivered in more accessible, business-friendly language is a plus.
- Ability to conceptualize, develop and execute clear and effective strategies and related work plans.
- The candidate most likely to succeed will be a self-starter comfortable working independently, but also a flexible, innovative collaborator.
- Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines, including balancing both short-term and long-term deliverables.
- Ability to translate technical content into compelling visualizations.
- Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial organization that works closely with large global companies in pursuit of its mission.

- Willingness to undertake up to 15% business travel.
