Work Location: This position will be based at our Chillicothe, MO location.
Hours: 40 hours per week, including Saturday rotation
Job Purpose: Evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of agricultural, commercial, real estate, or consumer loans. Advise borrowers on financial status and payment methods. Includes mortgage loan officers and agents, collection analysts, loan servicing officers, and loan underwriters. Manages overall retail operations to ensure efficient and satisfactory implementation of customer services keeping with financial institution policies and procedures, as well as manage and direct retail personnel.
Branch Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
- Multi-faceted responsibilities range from cash handling and basic transactions to product and service sales, and referrals to other lines of business. Primary skills include key product knowledge, relationship building, customer service and referrals.
- Provide oversight and direction to retail branch employees in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
- Has responsibility for training of department personnel; reviewing and evaluating performance; and recommending salary adjustments, promotions, discharges and other personnel-related actions.
- Develop and maintain customer relations, provide exceptional customer service, maintain bank’s cash with accuracy and security.
- Assist personnel in helping customers with routine account-related requests such as: funds transfers, automatic funds transfers, stop payments, inquiries about bank deposit products and service charges, inquiries about debit card usage and limits, inquiries about checking and savings accounts transactions, inquiries about funds availability, and check verification requests by third parties.
- Assist personnel in verifying information on ATM/debit card applications to the information in customer database.
- Assist personnel in placing holds on accounts for uncollected funds, distribute documentation to customers and properly log.
- Assist branch coordinators in monitoring and balancing cash vault on a weekly basis and maintain dual control for safekeeping access.
- Support branch coordinator in maintaining the bank’s files for currency transaction reports, customer safekeeping receipts, loan and trust collateral receipts, commercial resolutions, powers of attorney, court orders, levies, miscellaneous deposit documentation and general correspondence.
- Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, attend training sessions, or visit other branch locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Loan Officer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
- Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
- Meet with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
- Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services.
- Review loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
- Approve loans within specified limits and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
- Handle customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet custome's' needs.
- Review and update credit and loan files.
- Perform credit analysis on loans, and submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation, if needed.
- Compute payment schedules.
- Confer with underwriters to aid in resolving mortgage application problems.
- Market bank products to individuals and firms, promoting bank services that may meet customers' needs.
- Work with clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
- Analyze potential loan markets and develop referral networks to locate prospects for loans.
- Arrange for maintenance and liquidation of delinquent properties.
- Petition courts to transfer titles and deeds of collateral to banks.
- Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, attend training sessions, or visit other branch locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience with be considered.
- Five years sales experience in lending or banking.
- Three to five years retail management experience, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
