Retail Banking Specialist

Work Location: This position will be based at any of our BTC Bank locations

Hours: 40 hours per week, including some Saturday rotations

Job Purpose: Retail Banking Specialist will assist in the overall administration of the Retail Banking department.

• Builds, retains, and expands relationships with fellow employees and customers.
• Understand and maintain knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
• Provides overall support to the Retail Banking team and other divisions of BTC Bank.
• Assists Retail Banking Officer in developing, implementing and marketing new products and in making product and marketing strategy modifications.
• Champions employee development to accomplish succession planning within the retail sector.
• Ensures compliance tools are available for all federal and state regulations that impact the retail division.
• Assists Retail Banking Officer with updating manuals and references as resources for staff training and business continuity, and to fulfill industry compliance guidance and regulations.
• Is a subject matter expert in all product and services offered through the retail banking department.
• Assists in evaluating questionable actions, operational inefficiencies and collaborates with staff to resolve or improve them.
• Uses knowledge of financial services to develop and/or refer potential customers to the appropriate business development officer.
• Participates in community organizations and events to enhance the images and reputation of the financial institution in the communities it serves or plans to serve.
• Assists Branch Coordinators with BNControl reporting and forms.
• Will work as a liaison with special projects for the Retail Banking Department.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in business, finance or related degree; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• General understanding of banking and/or financial services industry desired.
• Strong ethics and the highest confidentiality standards; demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information and work with confidential and/or privileged information.
• Ability and desire to learn and grow in the Banking profession.
• Five to ten years of experience in banking and/or managing a multi-branch network with demonstrated business development and/or sales management responsibilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong administrative skills with effectiveness in developing task and managing resources to achieve targets and goals.
• Must be an enthusiastic positive leader and a productive team member.
• Strong analytical, organizational and decision-makings skills.
• Ability to represent the financial institution professionally to outside and/or customer contacts.

Working Conditions:

• This job operates in a normal office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Requirements:

• This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
