What we are looking:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Category Manager to oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of categories, including Tobacco and Cigarette, Beer and Packaged Beverages, Grocery, Snacks, General Merchandise, Health and Beauty, Retail Food, Hot and Cold Dispensed Products, and Frozen Foods.
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and executing category strategies, managing vendor relationships, creating planograms, and driving sales and profitability for a variety of product segments. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and an ability to optimize product assortments for maximum customer engagement and business growth.
Education & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in category management or a similar role, with a focus on convenience store sector.
- Proven track record in vendor negotiations, product assortment, and planogram creation.
- Strong experience in sales forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Expertise in creating and implementing planograms for diverse product categories.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to inform decision-making.
- Ability to develop and execute effective category strategies and product assortments.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, including stock management, merchandising, and pricing.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and retail management software; PDI is a plus.
