Summary

The Powder Coating Production Manager oversees daily operations of the wood powder coating department, ensuring efficient production, exceptional quality, and a safe work environment. This hands-on role combines managerial duties with active involvement in the powder coating process. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with technical experience, a strong quality focus, and effective personnel management skills. This role requires close collaboration with other department managers and clear, consistent communication with the powder coating team to align goals and drive success.

Responsibilities

• Production Oversight: Manage and optimize the automated wood powder coating line to meet goals, operate equipment, and adjust schedules to meet customer demands.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control, conduct inspections, troubleshoot coating issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and manage maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency.
• Efficiency Maximization: Identify and implement strategies to improve throughput, reduce waste, and apply lean manufacturing principles.
• R&D Collaboration: Work with R&D teams to test new materials and technologies, staying updated on industry trends.
• Personnel Management: Supervise, train, and mentor staff, manage schedules, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other department managers to align production goals, resolve cross-functional issues, and ensure seamless operations. Foster open communication within the powder coating team, providing clear direction, feedback, and support to achieve departmental objectives.

Qualifications

• Prefer a degree in engineering, operations management, or business administration.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing and/or production management.
• Experience with a manufacturing ERP system preferred.
• Process improvement knowledge and demonstrated cycles of learning in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to drive results by influencing others within all levels of the organization by working with and through others.
• Proven track record of process improvements in manufacturing.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of wood machining processes and finishing a plus.
• Willingness to support any additional duties or tasks per business needs.
