Armed Protective Security Officers -
- Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on premises.
- Access control of entrances and exits and departure of employees and visitors.
- Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities and / or incidents that may have occurred.
- Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines.
- Using provided communication devices, such as two-way radios, in a clear and concise manner
- Leverages excellent listening and service skills in emergency response and evaluation procedures.
- Performing CPR or first aid when needed
- Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and / or Project Manager.
Minimum Requirements :
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Be a United States citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard)
- Been issued a Social Security Card by the Social Security Administration, which bears the individual name and social security number
- Have verifiable documentation of one experience and one education level listed below :
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience (armed) security experience or one (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full-duty status with a full-service police department in a municipality, state, or federal law enforcement department within the US.
- A minimum of two (2) years as a member of any US Armed Forces with an honorable discharge
- Received, at minimum, either a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend English and be able to compose written reports in English
- Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry
- Must have a customer service-driven mindset
- Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers
- Must be trainable and able to display proficiency in firearms (pistol), intermediate weapons (OC spray and expandable baton), First Aid, CPR, AED
Physical Demands :
- PSOs shall be physically able to perform tasks in the performance of assigned duties
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day, either indoors or outdoors
- Ability to remain on post for up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break
- Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours, with the ability to mentally and physically react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations
