We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to operate various types of vehicles. As a Local Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles including tanker containers,,and tractor-trailers.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety protocols and operational procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license.
- TWIC card is a must
- Must have port experience
- Experience with various types of trailers including container trailers and flatbeds.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to transportation and logistics.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
