What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategy & Business Modeling Business Analyst - Summer 2022 Start Date position at BTS?
We are hiring Business Analyst level Strategy and Business Modelers to start their BTS careers in the summer of 2022 in the following offices: New York, NY, Chicago, IL, and San Francisco, CA. If you are interested in more than one location, you'll be able to indicate your location preferences in the application and you do not need to apply more than once.
What You’ll Do at BTS
The greatest ideas in the world will die on the vine if not properly implemented. At BTS, we turn our clients’ ideas and strategies into results. We do this by designing customized learning experiences that drive innovation, alignment, and performance.
As a Business Analyst consultant on the Strategy & Business Modeling team, you’ll work directly with leaders from some of the world’s leading corporations. Global 100 and 500 largest companies. You’ll learn how their business works and what their strategies are, and you’ll be shaping the leadership capabilities of their senior management.
A Strategy & Business Modeler is responsible for designing and building the business simulations that are the foundation of the learning experiences we create. These simulations are often Excel-based, using VBA tools. The SBM (we’ll use an acronym for brevity for the rest of this posting!) is a key member of the design team to conceptualizing and brainstorm challenges and experiences that will elegantly simplify, and get to the core dynamics and tradeoffs of, executing the client’s strategy in a competitive business simulation experience. In order to design these learning experiences, you’ll interview our clients’ executives and leaders, identifying the metrics and levers that are essential to the learning program. When in the workshop/facilitation setting SBM’s are responsible for processing the simulation results and presenting them to client audiences between 15-50 key decision makers.
There are no industry verticals at BTS, and you won’t fly to the same city every week for three straight months, sitting in a spare cube at the client’s office. You’ll work on multiple projects at one time, across different industries, and with different internal teams. Right now, we are doing our work virtually. Eventually, and hopefully soon, we will return to working in our offices, as well as facilitating in person programs with our clients. For us, that’s when we travel – when we are in front of our clients leading them through the simulations and workshops we’ve created. And when we get back to “normal,” you can expect that you’ll travel around 25-30% of the time, going to different cities to facilitate the incredible experiences you’ve designed.
The rest of the time is spent creating the amazing experiences we provide for our clients. You’ll laugh a lot and have a lot of fun. And this is all done in a team-based setting where our entrepreneurial culture of freedom and responsibility empowers you to contribute from your first day.
