This role will be responsible for managing freight carriers, and transportation processes to ensure efficient, cost- effective, and compliant delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong logistics background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize relationships with freight carriers and 3PL providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable service.
- Negotiate competitive shipping rates and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or timelines.
- Oversee the transportation of raw materials, packaging, and finished products, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to support production and customer needs.
- Ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations, including customs and transportation laws.
- Prepare and manage shipping documents such as bills of lading, customs declarations, and insurance paperwork.
- Identify risks in freight operations, develop contingency plans, and resolve issues like delays or damaged shipments promptly.
- Track and manage the logistics budget, monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving strategies.
- Analyze logistics performance metrics, including delivery times, costs, and carrier reliability, and recommend process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably in consumer goods or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping, customs regulations, and INCOTERMS.
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP systems).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
