As a Manager/Director of Project Control in our CFO Organization, you will support Operations with financial analysis, risk mitigation, and revenue reporting to help the Company and Program succeed. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to build an actionable plan that meets all client requirements for financial management and reporting in a timely and seamless manner. As a Director of Project Control, you will leverage your government contracts experience working in a demanding and fast-paced environment to serve as a strategic business partner with our Operations sectors and Project Managers to meet contract requirements and achieve our performance goals. You will lead and mentor our Project Control Team of Project Control Analysts and help ensure the Project Control processes run efficiently through our team's consistent tracking and communication with all stakeholders. WORK LOCATION:

Primary location: McLean, VA (Corporate HQ) with remote work flexibility

This position will have direct communication with our customers monthly and may require periodic travel.

 

 

To keep breaking barriers and redefining what's possible, we’re looking for candidates with the following exceptional technical capabilities:

 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Control team to ensure high performance and professional growth, and to support and partner with Sector Project Managers to ensure program success
  • Partner with our business sectors to provide support and training to improve financial performance. 
  • Oversee project financials including budgets, forecast, estimates at completion (EACs), variance analyses, and forecast what-if analyses (e.g., review and model potential project performance options and impacts for/with Project Managers). 
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, funding, and billing requirements; monitor CV and FV levels against program spend and forecasts; monitor subcontractor funding and expenditures
  • Monitor and analyze project profitability and key performance indicators.
  • Track and model for T&M, FFP, and CPFF contracts; for CPFF contracts, monitory and factor potential indirect rate over/under runs and keep the Project Manager informed in accordance with DCAA, FAR, and CAS.
  • Evaluate and improve project control processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead maintenance and support of our accounting software (Deltek Costpoint) and improve our utilization of it and similar available tools, such as the Project Planning module.  
  • Manage Costpoint project workforce and ensure employees on program are using correct project codes
  • Serve as a liaison between Operations and other corporate functions.
  • Review Mods and any de-obligations prior to Project Manager execution
  • Prepare analyses for contract close-outs
  • Provide support to CFO organization:
    • Prepare and maintain live rolling forecast and AOPs
    • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual project financial reporting and provide variance analyses
    • Contribute to the Month-end close process (Revenue and direct costs) with Finance and Accounting, including submission of monthly direct accruals.
    • Assisting with month-end accruals, expense reports, and initiating corrections, if/when necessary
    • Other tasks, as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Candidates must have the ability to receive a Security Clearance but are not required to have a clearance at the time of hire
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math, or related degree, or at least 5 years work of related work experience
  • 5 to 10 years of federal government contracting and program financial experience including long range forecasting, financial modeling, tracking costs to budget, cost to ceilings, and execution to schedule.
  • Prior experience partnering with business sectors and project managers to provide ongoing project financial management training/development.
  • Program Control support for Cost Plus/Reimbursable government contracts for IT services (i.e. labor contracts)
  • Experience/familiarity with CAS and FAR, DCAA, rate variance, and support of incurred cost submission audits
  • Solid working knowledge of multiple types of contracts including FFP, CPFF, T&M, and IDIQ contracts.
  • Strong Finance, Accounting, MS Excel, written, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with industry-leading accounting ERP systems, preferably Cost Point
  • Knowledge of IC/DoD contract processes.
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of Costpoint Project Planning Module (Forecasting tool)
  • 2 years’ experience with Costpoint cloud version 8.1/8.2.
  • Experience with PowerBI
