About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and professional Guest Relations Associate to provide exceptional customer service at funeral homes and centers. This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable assisting families and guests during emotionally sensitive times. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment, ensuring services run smoothly while offering comfort and assistance to those in need.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist guests with warmth, professionalism, and discretion.
- Provide directions, answer questions, and offer support to grieving families and attendees.
- Monitor service areas, ensuring a peaceful and respectful environment.
- Assist with seating, floral arrangements, and program distribution.
- Communicate effectively with funeral home staff to coordinate service details.
- Handle guest inquiries with patience and sensitivity in potentially emotional situations.
- Operate basic electronic equipment, such as telephones and photo copiers
- Become familiar with and adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties, such as tidying service areas and replenishing supplies.
- Attend required training sessions and guest relations meetings.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and supportive in emotional settings.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to quickly learn and operate basic electronic systems.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Primarily indoors at funeral homes and centers.
- Frequent standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 35 lbs., such as chairs, floral arrangements, or supplies).
- Must be able to assist guests with mobility needs as necessary.
- Interaction with grieving families and guests in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, based on service needs.
- Participation in ongoing training, guest relations meetings, and adherence to workplace policies and procedures.
