Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic, customer-focused Municipal Outside Sales Representative to develop and expand our presence in a new territory within the municipal sector. This role will be responsible for driving sales, identifying new business opportunities, and establishing relationships with key clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in outside sales, particularly in industries involving pumps, motors, controls, and valves. We are looking for an ambitious, results-driven individual who is eager to build and grow a new market, while maintaining strong relationships with potential clients and establishing a foundation for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:
· Execute comprehensive sales strategies to promote our products and services within the municipal market.
· Initiate contact with new and existing customers in a defined, municipal/industrial territory, including l managers, engineers, end-users, and treatment facility operators.
· Build and nurture long-term client relationships based on trust, integrity, and exceptional service.
· Review specifications, application requirements, and related documents, collaborating with Inside Sales to prepare accurate quotations and proposals.
· Provide technical support and guidance for the proper use, operation, and maintenance of pumping equipment.
· Actively participate in industry-related events, including conferences, trade shows, and professional organizations.
· Develop and expand the territory by penetrating existing accounts and identifying new sales opportunities.
· Maintain an up-to-date CRM database for accurate tracking of customer interactions and sales progress.
· Communicate with partners and suppliers to ensure technical support and product availability.
· Conduct regular fieldwork, including site visits, to ensure customer satisfaction and effective product deployment.
· Work standard hours of 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening, weekend work, and overnight travel as necessary.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years of consistent job history in previous sales roles.
· Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience, ideally in a related industry (industrial sales, hydraulics, or electrical/mechanical products).
· Clean driving record and successful completion of a background check.
· Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
· Proven ability to identify key decision-makers and address customer needs proactively.
· Strong technical understanding of pumping systems, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical concepts.
· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and product specifications.
· Proficiency in using CRM systems and maintaining detailed records of sales activities.
· Must possess a valid state driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in industrial or mechanical fields, including hydraulics, water or wastewater systems, or electrical systems.
· Previous experience in inside sales or field service roles.
· Familiarity with municipal clients or experience within the water treatment sector is highly desirable.
Compensation & Benefits:
· Competitive salary starting at $65,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule:
