We are looking for a Fabrication Lead to join our Operations Team to help us make our legendary products.
SUMMARY
The job of a Fabrication Lead is to oversee operations and ensure that Fabrication components meet Buck quality standards. The Lead is responsible for training Operators on new skills and for teaching Operators how to avoid quality issues when they occur. This position will update priority boards for assigned centers and ensure the production floor stays on schedule. The Lead will also identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality, or efficiency. Approximately 20% of duties will be administrative and 80% are production-floor oriented.

Days: Monday thru Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and lead a culture of safety
- Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
- Will focus on daily one-on-one operator training/coaching
- Responsible for delivering training and reporting out progress to Supervisors to monitor and track
- Perform Quality checks in assigned work centers and coach operators as needed
- Identify quality deviations and follow up with Operators to ensure quality is held to the highest standard. Inform Supervisor of significant deviations from company quality standards
- Ensure quality and quantity of parts move at a steady pace to meet the schedule
- Coach operators on new techniques to make sure they are producing to the highest quality standards
- Audit setups and ensure processes are being followed in accordance with Standard Work Instructions. Coach Operators on ways to improve their setups
- Look for ways to improve processes in assigned work centers (i.e. new tools, equipment, housekeeping)
- Ensure Operators have the tools and parts needed to complete tasks to reduce operator time away from work center
- Daily coordination of priority parts through assigned work centers and coordination of priority parts with other Fabrication Leads through their areas
- Update Priority Parts list and have it ready for the morning and evening turnover meetings
- Ensure Operators are correctly using the Inventory Track system to record the processing time of parts through Fabrication
- Attend daily planning and scheduling meetings
- Provide feedback to supervisors on personnel issues and address any immediate situations that may occur in work area
- Responsible for maintaining 5S program in their respective areas
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
QUALIFICATIONS

- Able to work well independently and as a team
- Ability to read and interpret work from sketches, specifications, blueprints and job orders
- Must have the ability to trouble shoot
- Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft programs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- GED/High School Diploma or related experience and training
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment a plus
- Supervising experience is preferred
