SUMMARY
The Material Expediter compiles and maintains materials and parts inventory to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. .
- Attention to detail and accuracy is critical: Product identification, counting, computer transactions
- Excellent attendance and reliable predictability a must
- Able and willingness to work mandatory overtime.
- Ability to multi-task under pressure
- Receive product in from production. This includes accurate computer transactions and physically putting product away using FIFO (first in- first out)
- Pull any non-standard product for sales orders
- Completes in-process quality inspection of all material as it is being pulled and transported.
- Immediately notifies supervisor if material is miss marked, damaged, or lost.
- Must be forklift certified sit-down and stand-up forklifts (Through Buck Knives)
- Organize and adjust how and where product is stored based on volume at the time
- Assist in putting away product and packing materials that are delivered from the warehouse
- Replenish the corrugated boxes -inform supervisor when running low
- Replenish the flow racks, packing materials, and unpacked knives (A level) from over stock.
- Pull materials for packing/shipping as requested
- Assign new locations to product in AX as needed
- Facilitate rush orders
- Notify supervisor of any potential problems/delays
- Locate and distribute materials to specified production areas, manually, using handcart, hand truck or fork lift
- Keep product organized and marked for ease of locating and counting
- Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies
- Practice 5S in the workplace
- Assist with cycle counts
- Work with Water Spider (as needed) to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
- Must be able to stand for full shift
- Must be able to lift up to 40#
- Must be able to operate a pallet jack
- Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies
- Ability to handle sharp knives and other items continuously throughout the shift
- All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.
