Role Description
The Part-time Kennel Worker is a W-2 entry level position with the opportunity for advancement. Professional experience with dogs or dog training is appreciated but not required. On-site training, company literature, general resources, and cross-training with other staff members will be provided. The Part-time Kennel Worker has potential for advancement to a full-time position or as a Trainer.
This position is on-site and is not a remote position. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kennel and surrounding areas, and for the overall physical and emotional well-being of the dogs.
Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to: dog walking; yard/kennel cleaning; and maintaining awareness of the safety, conduct, health and location of all dogs. You will be expected to promote a cooperative and friendly atmosphere in the kennel and on the property, and to maintain a professional and helpful attitude during work hours.
The Part-time Kennel Worker provides ongoing daily cleaning of the premises, including deep cleaning when necessary. The job involves physical contact with animals, including bodily fluids. The Part-time Kennel Worker must have the ability to stand or walk for an hour or more consecutively, to be outdoors in varied weather during part or all of a shift, and to lift up to 50 lbs., if necessary. In general your responsibility will be to ensure all dogs in our care are fed, exercised, paid attention to/supervised, and the areas they frequent are kept clean.
Organization, reliability, the ability to communicate effectively, a good attitude, reliable transportation, and punctuality are requirements for this position.

Qualifications:
- Experience in animal care preferred
- Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks very desirable
- Internet connection and phone calling capabilities appreciated
- Experience in dog training or the study of animal psychology helpful
COMPENSATION
This role is W-2 and hourly.
The position requires a commitment of 15-20 hours per week. Opportunities to work additional hours, up to but probably not exceeding 40, will occur with some frequency, so flexibility is appreciated.
Buck’s Virginia pays its staff members electronically via direct deposit every 2 weeks.
In addition to base pay, a sales commission will be made available to you based on your efforts. You are eligible to receive a portion of every sale that you bring to Buck’s (start to finish). Sales commission begins at $100 per sale.
Top performers will receive additional incentives and bonuses.
