We are hiring a Nurse Practitioner for the Helen Vine Recovery Center, a licensed 30-bed, co-ed residential withdrawal management and substance use treatment program that provides welcoming, recovery-oriented services to individuals with alcohol and drug addiction issues, as well as co-occurring psychiatric problems. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with substance use disorders (SUD). This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with substance use concerns, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. You will utilize advanced nursing knowledge to promote recovery, manage withdrawal symptoms, prescribe medications, and support patients' mental health needs.
This is a part-time, 24 hour per week position, offering a flexible, hybrid schedule. As a part-time staff member, you will be eligible for enrollment in health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, the employee assistance program and generous PTO. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Assessment and Diagnosis:

Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with substance use disorders, including physical, psychological, and social evaluations.

Conduct screening for substance use, mental health issues, and co-occurring disorders.

Establish an accurate diagnosis and develop individualized treatment plans.
Treatment and Management:

Provide direct care, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorders.

Prescribe medications as indicated for detoxification, withdrawal management, and maintenance therapies.

Offer counseling, psychoeducation, and behavioral interventions as part of a holistic treatment approach.

Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, side effects, and feedback.
Collaboration:

Work closely with other healthcare providers, including physicians, social workers, counselors, and other specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care.

Participate in team meetings and case discussions to ensure integrated and continuous care for all patients.
Patient Education and Advocacy:

Educate patients and their families about substance use disorders, treatment options, and available resources.

Advocate for patient needs, ensuring access to appropriate services and support.
Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

Ensure all activities are in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with specialization in psychiatry, mental health, or addiction preferred. Experience in substance use disorder treatment, mental health, or addiction services is highly desirable. Current, active, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in California required. Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or other relevant certification preferred. DEA licensure and the ability to prescribe controlled substances.
Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of substance use disorders, medication-assisted treatment, and evidence-based interventions. Ability to conduct physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results. Skilled in patient education, counseling, and motivational interviewing techniques. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations. Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while maintaining patient safety and quality care.
