JOB SUMMARY :
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for, but not limited to the selling of advertising to credible advertisers, by maximizing performance of the Account Executives and Media Sales team. The Regional Sales Manager will lead the sales team, gather and analyze competitive market conditions and creatively utilize inventory to achieve sales growth. The Regional Sales Manager will manage sales staff functions including hiring, training, corrective discipline, sales accountability systems and performance evaluations. The Regional Sales Manager will work with Maxx South leadership to achieve company goals and strategic objectives outside of driving advertising revenue
The Regional Sales Manager reports directly to the Director, Media Sales and Creative Services with dotted line responsibility to the Vice President / GM of Maxx South.
Direct reports to this position are : Account Executives, Multi-Media Producers
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for :
Directly supervise the Account Executives and support staff.
Hiring, training, supervising, disciplining and staffing of direct reports;
Developing and enforcing departmental practices and procedures as they pertain to sales;
Setting annual budgets in conjunction with the Finance, Planning and Reporting manager for the markets and individual AE targets;
Insuring performance standards for all Sales personnel are defined, communicated and met;
Account management including making joint calls, handling some important (house) accounts personally, monitoring key account activity and AE activity and delivering accurate monthly projections
Encouraging and enforcing positive forces, leadership skills and above-average job performance within the department
Creating and maintaining sales incentive programs such as New Business, AE bonuses, contests, team building initiatives, etc,;
Representing the company at community functions and related meetings;
Timely and accurate completion of the employee performance evaluations in accordance with Human Resources policies and established schedules;
Following and enforcing all Company policies and procedures, including the EEO and safety guidelines, at all times.
Conducting consistent sales meetings with the account executives and attending enterprise focused meetings both in-person and remotely when necessary.
Performing any miscellaneous departmental duties as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS :
Education and Experience
College degree in Business Administration, Radio / TV, Liberal Arts – Preferred
Regional Sales Manager requires 10 years Media Sales Management experience in the same or similar medium.
High level of computer skills-required (including Excel)
History of developing / growing digital revenue streams

WORKING CONDITIONS :
The Regional Sales Manager is an exempt, full time position.
The Regional Sales Manager regularly works Monday through Friday, 8 : 30 a.m. - 5 p.m., with additional time as needed in order to ensure the proper operation of the Ad Sales Department
The Regional Sales Manager works in an automated business office environment with business office equipment including telephones, personal computers, calculators, and copy and FAX machines.
The Regional Sales Manager is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. At all times, he / she must maintain a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving records the meets Company standards for an insurable driver.
