What are the responsibilities and job description for the 25-26 SPED Teacher - SOAR (Self-Contained) @ WestPark position at Buckeye Elementary School District?
Assist the district’s special education high needs students in a self-contained classroom to learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible adults.
To create a positive learning environment to facilitate the academic, physical, social and intellectual development of students. Uses a variety of instructional methods and strategies when presenting appropriate curriculum that is aligned with the goals and objective in each child's individual education plan. Must work closely with staff, administration, Special Education Director and parents.
Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional programs for area(s) of assignment and student population. Take initiative in productively addressing overall programmatic refinements for the purpose of maximizing each student’s potential through positive interpersonal skills. Work cooperatively with administration and staff at the building level to best meet the educational needs of the student population. To create a positive learning environment to facilitate the academic, personal, social, and intellectual development of each student. To present appropriate curriculum that is in alignment with federal, state and district goal and objectives using a variety of instructional methods and strategies to further enhance and support learning. To maintain high expectations for self and all students and encourages them to become lifelong learners.
Start date - FY 22-23. Beginning teacher salary $42,400 (301 money is paid separately) - Salary depends on years of experience, certification, and advanced degree(s). Newly hired SPED teachers will receive a $1,000 signing bonus. Buckeye Elementary School District is a K-8 district. We offer competitive salaries with excellent benefits.
