Description
We are seeking a skilled, reliable general laborer to join our growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting contractors, operating heavy machinery, and following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.
Essential Functions
- Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
- Follow the direction and instructions received from the Construction/ Project Coordinator
- Assist in building scaffolding and temporary structures
- Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks. Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches
- Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space
- Aid contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed
- Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials
- Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment. Ensure proper PPE are worn
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
- Documents work performed including preventative and corrective maintenance issues
- Work is primarily performed on Buckeye properties and may require minimal travel
Job Specifications
- Requires a high school diploma or GED
- Vocational school or trade apprenticeships a plus, but not required
- 1-2 years of construction or building experience. Drywall, roofing, electrical experience preferred, but not required
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Must have the ability to:
- occasionally lift 50 pounds unassisted
- walk, stand, sit, bend or kneel to access equipment
- climb ladders and/or use personnel lifting devices to work at elevated levels.
- work in non-climate-controlled areas
- wear protective gear including safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses and dust mask
- work independently or as an active member of a team
- work a changing shift schedule and on weekends
