Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is essential for supporting the overall food service operations in our restaurant/hotel and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and kitchen floors by sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as required, including bussing tables and helping cooks with basic kitchen duties.
- Organize and store clean dishes and kitchen equipment in designated areas.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation practices.
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager promptly.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic food handling practices is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong cleaning skills with an emphasis on hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Willingness to assist other team members as needed, demonstrating a collaborative spirit.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 30 pounds).
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
