About Us: Buckeye Run Veterinary Clinic, established in 1991 as a solo mixed animal practice, is now focused on companion animal medicine. We currently employ one full-time practitioner and two relief veterinarians. Our clinic is equipped with modern and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, ensuring the best possible care for our patients. Situated in a rural small college town in Northcentral West Virginia, Salem is 45 minutes south of Morgantown and offers easy access to outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, boating and fishing. Our practice goal is to "Provide quality, affordable, ethical veterinary care keeping the best interest of the patient first and foremost in all of our recommendations."

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in small animal medicine and surgery, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners. Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical examinations, diagnose, and treat illnesses and injuries in small animals.
  • Conduct routine surgeries, dental procedures, and other medical treatments.
  • Provide preventive care, including vaccinations and wellness exams.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing education and guidance on pet care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with WV Board of Veterinary Medicine as well as clinic policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other veterinary professionals and support staff to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Valid veterinary license in the state of West Virginia.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Benefits:

  • Starting salary range of $110,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • $1,000 relocation bonus.
  • $3,000 sign-on bonus after 3 months of successful employment.
  • Full-time position is 40 hours per week, including 1 Saturday a month from 8 AM to noon.
  • After-hour emergencies are handled by a local emergency clinic.
  • 2 weeks paid leave for the first year.
