Foreman/Group Lead
The Foreman/Group Lead will be an essential part of quarry operations at “Buckeye Stone”. They will be responsible for safely and effectively operating the plant, recognizing and monitoring potential safety, risk, and/or equipment malfunctions, and maintaining plant equipment. Managing processes and assisting staff to ensure optimum production. Must have the ability to multi-task, this position is one that covers the oversight of many moving parts, while also supervision of various roles.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aiding in overseeing and directing operations at the Quarry.
- Helping to ensure that all operations are in full compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Review, understand and carry out correct operating and maintenance procedures for all crushing equipment on each job assigned.
- Schedule all resources needed for each job daily and work with operations manager to establish an efficient work schedule
- Work with operations manager to communicate the most effective equipment applications, maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Responsible for general and specific safety practices, following company safety procedures, and cooperating with our safety manager in a positive proactive manner.
- Keeps all conveyor belts and areas between rollers, pulley, and catwalk clear of mud, dirt, rock, and debris with shovel or equipment.
- Maintain plant by greasing, oiling and lubrication of all points on the conveyor, crusher, and other equipment.
- Perform daily equipment walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
- Trouble shoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Supervisor skills to oversee and lead 4-5 crew members
- Ensure the safety of employees on the crew including adherence to use of PPE
- Knowledge of crusher operation, conveyor systems and maintenance
- Mechanical, troubleshooting and welding/fabrication skills preferred
- Maintain quality control of production at all times
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instruction from management
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Perform work in an indoor and outdoor environment year-round.
- Previous aggregates / quarry experience a plus.
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
