TITLE: Grounds Worker
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 1.0 FTE; 12-Month position
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Classified
GENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Grounds Worker will be responsible for providing a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment for students to learn and develop.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- May be required to alter working hours to perform regularly assigned duties
- Keeps assigned grounds, sidewalks, and driveways neat and clean during working hours
- Sweeps, mow, trims, and weeds daily.
- Maintains a daily inventory of supplies and reports the need for replacements.
- Report’s safety hazards and the need for major and minor repairs.
- Performs safety measures and secures the area.
- Set-up and clean-up for outside sports activities.
- Must use own initiative and judgment in performing the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:
High risk - Work is routinely performed in outdoor environments, including exposure to noise levels varying from low to mid based on the type of tools or equipment being used at any given time, and being on your feet for extended periods of time. Daily exposure to hazardous materials such as blood-born pathogens, high voltage, gases, or heights. At times extreme heat and cold weather will be encountered.

The applicant for this position is required to:
- Sit approximately 0% of the time
- Walk and Stand approximately 90% of the time
- Kneeling/Stooping approximately 10% of the time
- Lift on a regular basis 30-50lbs
- Reaching with Hand and Arms on a regular basis
- Ability to wear a respirator as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prefer two years of related experience
- Must have Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) Training.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must possess the ability to work with and communicate with students, staff, and vendors

- Comprehending reference books and manuals.
- Organizing and maintaining supplies.

- General grounds hand tools

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
The Grounds Worker reports directly to the District Grounds Foreman.
