Work hours are Monday through Friday - 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m./12 month position.

Position Overview
The School Custodian/Groundskeeper plays a vital role in ensuring that school facilities and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe for the school community. This dual-role position involves performing routine custodial duties inside school buildings as well as groundskeeping tasks outside. Your efforts will help create a conducive learning environment for students and an inviting atmosphere for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of school buildings and facilities
- Ensure restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas are sanitized and well-kept
- Maintain school grounds, including mowing lawns and trimming bushes
- Assist in setting up and tearing down for school events and activities
- Inspect and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs to the facilities manager
- Support in maintaining the inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in custodial or groundskeeping roles preferred
- Knowledge of basic maintenance and repair techniques and tools
- Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers
- Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to maintenance tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor and outdoor work in various weather conditions
