POSITION SUMMARY:
Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the LCFYMCA facilities by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, and refilling restroom / locker room dispensers.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms/locker rooms using established practices and procedures.
- Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
- Attend to emergencies when necessary.
- Notify supervisor of any maintenance issues or requests.
- Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Re-stock soap, paper towels, and other needed supplies.
- Assist with the set-up of events, as needed.
Child Protection Responsibilities:
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Participates in required abuse risk management training.
- Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.
- Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
- Ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitors high-risk locations (locker-rooms and bathrooms), etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; six months of related experience preferred.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
