POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the monitoring of the facility in order to ensure the safety of all members, guests and staff. Serve as an ambassador for the BVFYMCA by providing exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Provide excellent, timely and courteous customer service to members, guests, and program participants in order to contribute to member retention.
- Maintain knowledge of current membership and program policies, procedures and building procedures.
- Monitor facility to ensure a safe, hazard-free environment, this includes the pool areas, locker rooms and basketball courts. Assist in returning equipment to proper place.
- Provide facility tours to prospective members.
- Assist staff, member and guests with questions and concerns.
- Provide direction, guidance and rule enforcement for staff, members and guests.
- Respond to emergency situations according to protocol. Accurately complete all incident/accident reports.
- Assist in the cleanliness of the facility and grounds by picking up trash and sweeping floors as necessary. Report any maintenance related issues or concerns to supervisor immediately.
Child Protection Responsibilities:
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Participates in required abuse risk management training.
- Reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.
- Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Adheres to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
- Ensures unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitors high-risk locations (locker-rooms and bathrooms), etc.
- Front desk personnel—ensures youth are properly signed in and signed out, ensures only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have high school diploma/GED.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) and ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- General computer knowledge.
- CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with individuals from different backgrounds.
