What are the responsibilities and job description for the On-Site Tutors position at Buckingham Friends School?

- Provide individualized one-on-one instruction in reading, writing, and/or math using research-based methodologies
- Implement structured literacy interventions for students with reading difficulties
- Guide students in developing strong writing skills
- Deliver multisensory math instruction
- Assess students’ academic progress and tailor lessons to meet their specific needs
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to support student learning and growth
- Provide regular communication with the school and parents/guardians
- Foster a positive student-tutor relationship that prioritizes students’ social-emotional and executive functioning skills
- Experience working with students in K-8, particularly in early elementary grades
- Training and/or certification in Wilson Reading System, Orton-Gillingham, or a comparable structured literacy program
- Training in writing instruction methods, such as the Hochman Method
- Experience with multisensory math programs
- Strong ability to teach executive functioning skills
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education, special education, or a related field
