Summary
The Benefits Assistant I supports the administration of Buckle’s benefits programs, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all benefit-related processes. This role assists in handling health and dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), 401(k), and other benefits while maintaining a high level of Teammate support.

Benefits Administration
- Collaboratively assist and respond to Teammate inquiries regarding all Buckle benefit programs, including health, dental, disability, life insurance, EAP, 401(k), and other plans.
- Guide new hires and those experiencing life events through their benefits options, ensuring timely and accurate enrollments.
- Assist during Open Enrollment, including communication efforts, enrollment meetings, system updates, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in the administration of leave of absence programs (LOA), coordinating necessary documentation, arrears, and follow-up.
- Assist in gathering and analyzing benefits data for reporting, auditing, and identifying areas for improvement.
Compliance and Recordkeeping
- Maintain compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, and other benefits-related regulations while handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Assist in benefits compliance efforts, including ACA tracking, required notices, and documentation retention.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of Teammate benefit elections, eligibility, deductions, and enrollment status using HRIS software.
- Organize and maintain benefits documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for audits and compliance purposes.
General
- Provide overall administrative support for the Human Resources Department.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
