What You'll Do
- Supervise volunteers; coordinate scheduling of volunteers and ensure Buckner humanitarian aid staff coverage of volunteer group times.
- Provide orientation and required training to staff as directed.
- Prepare for orientation meetings, special events, and other projects related to Ministry Engagement activities as needed.
- Organize, implement, and direct a comprehensive volunteer program.
- Engage, select, train, educate, and encourage volunteers for the humanitarian aid effort.
- Oversee humanitarian aid volunteer engagement activities and preparations.
- Maintain and provide current volunteer sensory engagement.
- Serve as a liaison between volunteers and Buckner staff.
- Develop the volunteer Coach's program by recruiting, supervising, and matching volunteer talents with job assignments.
- Drive Company-owned and/or leased vehicles (truck and trailer, van, etc.) as needed to pick up donations, including furniture, food, clothing, etc.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to monitor, assess, and help develop programs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse.
- Ensure quality and efficiency of tours for on-site volunteers conducted on-site.
- Assist with documenting all in-kind donations following established procedures.
- Assist with accurately processing and inventory of all donations in a timely manner.
- In-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge in project management, logistics, and cross-cultural communication for community program success
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum two-year related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer-related tasks with specific equipment and software applications.
- Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable.
- Ability to walk frequently; occasionally stand for prolonged periods of time; occasionally required to squat, climb stairs, kneel, and twist. Required to sit for prolonged periods of time, including extensive airline travel.
