We are seeking a Senior Director of Healthcare Revenue Cycle to join our team committed to delivering outstanding service to employees and clients. As a Senior Director of the Healthcare Revenue Cycle, you will play an important role by overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the revenue cycle, including healthcare billing, collections, and payer relations. What you'll do:
- Lead efforts to integrate revenue cycle processes and systems across all Buckner Retirement Services communities.
- Standardize billing, coding, and reimbursement practices to achieve efficiency and consistency across all Buckner Retirement Services communities.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term revenue cycle strategies that drive revenue maximization, operational efficiency, and enhanced patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, including finance, operations, and clinical departments, to align revenue cycle activities with organizational objectives.
- Ensure a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the revenue cycle function.
- Oversee and streamline end-to-end revenue cycle operations, including billing, claims management, payer relations, and collections.
- Analyze revenue cycle performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement process improvements to reduce denials, increase cash flow, and optimize reimbursements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Days in Accounts Receivable (AR), Denial Rate, and Clean Claims Rate to track and improve performance.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private insurance standards.
- Manage audits and reviews related to coding and billing practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and preventing revenue loss.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.Lead the optimization of healthcare revenue cycle technology, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), billing systems, and other automation tools.
- Evaluate new technologies and solutions to streamline operations, improve billing accuracy, and enhance the patient experience.
- Act as a liaison between the revenue cycle team and other departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Build strong relationships with external payers, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely reimbursement and smooth claims processing.
- Communicate financial and operational performance metrics to executive leadership, highlighting opportunities for growth and improvement.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 plus years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management, with a track record of success in overseeing integrated revenue cycle operations.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare reimbursement systems, including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and commercial payers.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Proficiency in healthcare revenue cycle software and data analytics tools. Experience with Netsmart/MyUnity, PointClickCare, Waystar, Inovalon, and Availity and similar products preferred.
- In-depth understanding of healthcare coding, billing, and documentation requirements.
- Requires proficient ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions dealing with abstract variables.
- Experience working in multi-site operations, with a preference for healthcare, retirement services, or non-profit sectors.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, regulatory compliance, and financial auditing standards.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
- Ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse team of financial professionals.
