It is particularly important that addresses and telephone numbers be current, complete, and accurate in all cases. We rely heavily on these items to complete the preliminary investigation. If the information is unavailable, the application will not be processed.

The following is a brief summary of the basic steps we take in processing your application :

l . The completed application will be reviewed for completeness by the Personnel / Human Resources Department and other designated Managers, who will determine whether to interview the applicant. We do not automatically interview all applicants.

  • If no interview is planned, the application is placed in an active file for the position involved and held for a period of three months. These applications are reviewed at a later time, if and when additional openings for the position become available.
  • If an interview is planned, the applicant will be contacted by the Personnel / Human Resources Department, normally within one to two weeks after the position's announced close date.

2 . Interviewees who are selected for employment are usually contacted within two to three days after their interview. Arrangements will then be made to complete all necessary paperwork to begin the background investigation. Many pre-hires will be required to complete an application packet for Arizona Department of Gaming Certification and / or a Tribal Gaming License depending on position offered. The fee for certification will be payable by the pre-hire depending on the position offered.

3 . If you are selected for the position, a background investigation will be completed that includes, but is not limited to, verification of :

  • Employment History
  • Education
  • Personal References
  • Comprehensive Financial Background Check
  • Criminal / Civil Record (Fingerprints will be sent to the FBI) Driving Record
  • Current Filed Federal and State Tax Returns
  • Important information for the candidate.

  • Felony convictions may be grounds for denial of Gaming Certification and / or a Tribal Gaming License.
  • All new hires will be required to submit verification of authorization to work within the United States in accordance with federal law. Employment is contingent on passing a drug test.
  • Preference in filling any non-grant / non-contract funded vacancies is given to enrolled Tribal Members of the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe and to other qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Employment Preference Policy and Procedure. Documentation of Tribal enrollment required (Tribal Enrollment Card, Certificate of Indian Blood or Tribal Voter Registration Card).
  • POSITION TITLE : PURCHASING ASSISTANT

    FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt

    SCOPE OF WORK :

    To oversee the purchasing functions of the Yavapai Gaming Agency (YGA). To control costs, review / Gaming Agency contracts, assist in the monitoring of fixed assets, and to order capital equipment. The Purchasing Assistant shall oversee and sign for Purchase Orders that are within a specifically assigned limit and assure that Purchase Orders receive the proper signatures and documentation before ordering product. Will become familiar with the Tribal Gaming Code, Tribal / State Gaming Compact, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA), National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) Regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Title 31, and the Yavapai Gaming Commission (YGC) Departmental Internal Controls and Job Instructions.

    WORK PERFORMED :

  • This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the Tribe and the employee and is subject to change as the needs of the Tribe and requirements of the position change. The below duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position;
  • Will be responsible for overseeing the initiating and tracking of purchase orders, verifying shipping / packing documents, tracking items received and monitoring quality of merchandise and services purchased;
  • Will code and process all F&B (Food and Beverage) Invoicing;
  • Will supply documentation to Accounts Payable and assist as needed;
  • Will have excellent interpersonal skills and must be able to interact harmoniously with a wide variety of people;
  • Will facilitate purchase requisitions and requests for materials and services in all areas and departments;
  • Will assist the various departments in the ordering and inventorying of uniforms;
  • Will assist the Purchasing Manager with all tasks as needed;
  • Will assist the Purchasing Manager with documentation storage / destruction per Compact Compliance;
  • Will assist the Purchasing Manager with the training of all necessary staff on Purchasing requirements and software.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED;
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to the Tribal / Gaming’s Drug and Alcohol
  • Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment;
  • JOBDES-Purchasing Agent

  • Must pass a background security check prior to and during the course of employment with the Tribal / Gaming Agency in order to meet the Tribal / State Gaming Compact and / or Tribal Gaming Code;
  • Must adhere to all Tribal / Gaming Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures;
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong orientation to excellent guest service;
  • Must be self-reliant and capable of working independently as appropriate or necessary;
  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License and be insurable under the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe’s auto insurance carrier;
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality;
  • Must have reliable, accurate attention to detail;
  • Must be able to lift and periodically carry up to 25 lbs.;
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS :

  • Prefer two years’ experience in Purchasing and / or Inventory Control;
  • Prefer knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
  • Prefer one year of experience in Bookkeeping and / or equivalent classes;
