Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting and finance, with a deep understanding of financial concepts and regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a commitment to maintaining compliance with GAAP and SOX standards. The CPA will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring the accuracy of all financial transactions.
Duties
- Proficient in QB desktop/online including payables, receivables and inventory.
- Mush know accrual based accounting in compliance with 280E and 471 IRS cannabis codes.
- Access Dutchie and Greenlight POS to enter daily deposits for all stores.
- Pay monthly gross receipts taxes, excise tax and tobacco tax.
- Bank reporting to Aery Bank.
- Maintain depreciation schedules, inventory balances, reconcile bank statements and record keeping.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Manage corporate accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls.
- Assist in corporate finance activities, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Provide guidance on wills, trusts, and estate law as needed.
- Utilize financial software to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in debits and credits, ensuring accurate bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with corporate finance concepts to support strategic initiatives.
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal audit processes.
- Ability to perform general ledger reconciliation effectively.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts that drive business performance.
- Proficient in various accounting software applications for effective reporting.
- Knowledge of wills, trusts, estate law is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
