Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Production to lead our Linden manufacturing facility. This role is essential in managing daily operations, optimizing production processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic initiatives to achieve our business goals. Whomever fills this role will need to be flexible to travel to our main manufacturing facility in Massachusetts for training purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily facility operations, ensuring adherence to GMP standards and state regulations. Stand up new equipment and ensure its seamless integration into production processes. Lead regular meetings with executive management and other stakeholders to review facility schedules, priorities, forecasts, and performance metrics. Provide consistent and detailed performance reports to track operational efficiency and progress towards goals.
- Team Management: Lead and manage department managers in packaging, inventory, QA/QC, maintenance, and delivery logistics.
- Efficiency Optimization: Implement production metrics and KPIs to maximize equipment utilization and production output using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Continuously seek to maximize equipment utilization through strategic planning and maintenance.
- Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations; maintain accurate records and safety protocols.
- Client & Sales Support: Collaborate with Sales to provide accurate production forecasts and address client needs effectively.
- HR Management: Oversee recruitment, training, staff relations, and foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years in facility operations management with multiple direct reports. 4 years in production or manufacturing. Preferably 2 years in the cannabis industry.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities a must. Candidate will have proficiency in MES systems and experience with lean manufacturing practices.
