Job Overview
A General Manager candidate should have proven management experience that will enable him or her to jump into the fast paced and demanding role of a General Manager. General Managers are responsible for several factors in the store including but not limited to asset management, customer and revenue, associate development and inventory control. Principal Responsibilities
Acquire and Maintain Customers
Compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes
Meeting company standards for quality, customer service and safety
Meeting sales and revenue goals, implementing marketing and growth plans
Provide a safe, clean environment for customers and associates
Train and develop associates
Decipher, prepare and review financial statements and store reports
Managing inventory and cash assets
Prepare daily work schedules, assign tasks, evaluate employee performance; discipline,
enforce company policy and terminate when appropriate
Recruit, hire, and train to ensure efficient operations
Set goals and conduct weekly staff meetings
Daily store management Essential Requirements
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in person and over the phone with
employees and customers
Ability to decipher, prepare and review financial statements and store reports
Ability to execute monthly sales and marketing plans
Must have proficient navigational skills
Effective organizational skills
Established selling skills
Handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Learn and become proficient in POS system
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in person and over the phone with
employees and customers
Negotiate and resolve conflict
Plan, organize, delegate, coordinate and follow up various tasks and assignments

Physical Requirements
Position routinely requires lifting, loading, moving, and using a dolly for merchandise 50‐300
pounds
Stooping, bending, pulling, climbing, reaching and grabbing as required
Must be able to traverse multiple flights of stairs while carrying furniture, appliance, and
electronics
Prolonged driving and standing
Must be able to work in and outdoors in a variety of climates and weather conditions
