Goal and Purpose of Position:
The Import/Export Coordinator is responsible for achieving and maintaining US trade compliance for Budenheim USA. Mainly responsible for the entering and coordination of transactional data for international shipments and domestic inbound and outbound shipments as needed.
Important Duties and Associated Tasks
Typical Duties:
- Primary contact/responsible person for processing, entering, verifying and coordination of transactional data for international Inbound, outbound shipments into SAP. (ref. BUS Supply Chain Planning One Note) information and data (e.g. Customs and Border Protection, End Use letters etc.)
- Interacts with colleagues at other related Legal Entities as necessary to help gather information or resolve issues.
- Interacts with vendors, service providers as necessary to help gather information or resolve issues.
- Record keeping for imports and exports.
- Communicate to the logistics department any news, industry trends or changes in regulations that would impact BUS business practices or outcomes.
- Suggests ideas for departmental process improvements.
- Assists with compliance audits as related to import/export compliance.
- Create and maintain all related shipment documentation (e.g. commercial invoice, SLD, SLI etc.)
- Track shipments in transit worldwide as per Supply Chain Planning One Note.
- Select carriers based on specific export customer requirements.
- Arrange import transportation when needed.
- Send appropriate documentation to carriers/warehouses (ref. Supply Chain Planning One Note).
- Liaison between Sales/carriers/warehouses/customer service regarding shipment status and customer requirements/markings (i.e. labeling, delays, changes, and exceptions).
- As requested, analysis of import/export KPI (e.g customs surcharge).
- Provide customs clearance documents to the customs broker. (ref. see above)
- As directed, interfaces as appropriate with interested parties for collecting and sharing of relevant
Special Duties:

Requirements:
- School Education: Minimum High School diploma
- Professional Education: Degree preferred or 5 years minimum experience in related field.
- Study: Preferably Supply Chain and/or Logistics
- Special Certificates: CFR 49/IMODG/IATA. Achieve and maintain any specialized training assigned upon employment.
- 5 year/s experience in supply chain, shipping and receiving, customs clearance preferred, with focus on importing and exporting, logistics
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the Harmonized Tariff System (HTSUS)
- Knowledge of Languages: English
- IT Knowledge :, SAP preferred:, Microsoft Office, Internet
