Responsibilities
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily food production activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and preparation.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring a diverse selection of high-quality dishes.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and best practices.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and service to maintain high standards.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs.
- Manage catering operations for events, ensuring timely delivery of services.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Experience
- Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management is preferred.
- Strong background in food production, including knowledge of cooking techniques and presentation.
- Experience with inventory management systems and procedures.
- Familiarity with bartending skills is a plus but not required.
- Previous work in a catering environment or dietary department is advantageous.
