In Short:
The Accounts Payable Associate will possess strong organizational and time management skills in addition to a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. This position requires diverse skills to handle a broad range of duties. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for the following tasks:
Role and Responsibilities:
- Data entry of vendor invoices and reconciliation of statements.
- Print and mail vendor payments and process ACH vendor payments weekly.
- Match and e-file vendor purchase orders, shipping documents, and invoices.
- Calculate use tax on applicable purchases.
- Complete vendor credit applications and set up new vendors in accounting software.
- Process vendor Certificates of Insurance and W-9 forms.
- Provide support and participate actively as an accounting team member.
- Complete miscellaneous accounting projects per direction of Accounting Manager or CFO.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Associate degree in accounting or business OR 1-3 years of related experience
Competencies:
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, communications, and project management skills.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook and Excel (Great Plains experienced preferred) and ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within short deadlines.
- Has the desire to automate, streamline and document processes.
- Strong customer service orientation in all correspondence with customers and vendors.
