The Dockside Bar & Grill Tipped Server is the face of Buehler’s as they interact directly with our customers. The Tipped Server’s sole responsibility is to ensure that our loyal customers have an exceptional dining experience each and every time they choose to dine with us. To deliver this exceptional service, the Tipped Server works closely with the Food Service teams to ensure that each meal is delivered to the customer in a timely manner. A typical day for a Tipped Server may include:
Seating our customers as they enter the restaurant in a timely manner
Greet warmly each customer and take their drink order in a timely manner
Assist customers in their order selection as well as anticipate additional items they may want (ex. drink, salad, sandwich, dessert, etc.)
Total customers bill correctly
Work closely with BOH Line Cooks to ensure the customer’s order is 100% correct and served in a timely manner
Ensure the tables are cleaned promptly after customers leave and assist as needed
Responsible for pre-bussing and bussing tables
Assist with mentoring and training new employees
Ensure the dining room is spotless – table, floors, walls – everything
Follow procedures for keeping yourself, our customers, and coworkers safe
Uphold Dockside's policies regarding a workplace free of harassment, bullying and discrimination
Set-up and closing dining room routines
Comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, and housekeeping to keep the work area clean
Observe proper food handling techniques
Store food properly and safely, mark the date and item
Other duties as directed or assigned to support total store operations
Our legal team wants you to know what’s required for this role:
Minimum age requirement 16-18 (unable to serve beer, wine or alcohol); 19 years of age (to serve beer and wine); 21 (to serve alcohol)
Able to meet the requirements to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50# and occasionally 80#
Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and can do simple math problems
Able to work within our deli/kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives…so frequently you will be exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
