At Great Clips, your primary goal is to make customers look and feel great!
All our hair stylists love cutting hair, connecting with customers, and working in our warm, welcoming environment.
When we do it right, your tips are great. We work with you to make the best tips possible. When you join, ask our owner, Ray, for his secrets for better tips.
To help you deliver a great haircut experience, we train you on a haircut process made of 5 steps. We have been perfecting “the 5 Steps” for years and know that this process delivers great customer satisfaction and great earnings for our stylists. Your job is to deliver these five steps so customers come back over and over again.
That’s why your hair stylist job description is organized around the 5 Steps. Here’s the list and you’ll learn the details when you join:
Step 1. Greet the customer and introduce yourself
Step 2. Connect with the customer through the haircut consultation
Step 3. Create the cut and talk about hair care and products
Step 4. Confirm customer satisfaction
Step 5. Thank the customer and invite them back
Other parts of your job including checking your personal performance every week if not every day. Make sure you understand your performance and our goals for you. Work with your manager to improve and earn higher pay as your performance improves.

Do your best to keep the salon safe and without hazards.
You will measure your success based on a number of measures including:
- How many customers come back to visit the salon after they visit with you
- Weekly customers cared for and sales generated

Requirements
List of Key Stylist Qualifications
- Current cosmetology or barber license as required by state regulations
- Commitment to work a flexible schedule, including at least one weekend and two evening shifts
- Reliability and consistent attendance
- Ability to cut hair for an extended period and provide quality haircuts in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and speak English
- Someone who cares and gets along with other employees and customers
List of Key Stylist Physical Requirements
- Reaching: extending hand(s) and arm(s) primarily at or above the shoulder
- Standing for sustained periods of time
- Frequent washing of hands
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers
Salary : $16 - $22
