Provides counseling services including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, long-term counseling, psycho education, case management, advocacy, and follow-up.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides services planned to restore clients to optimum social and health adjustment
- Provides orientation to clients
- Works with clients' families and natural support to create strong support networks and to promote healthy relationships
- Demonstrates appropriate & complete documentation of treatment – related information including diagnostic summaries, treatment plans and reviews, progress notes, correspondence, releases of information, etc. in compliance with State and agency standards
- Provides competent and ethical therapy with clients to assist clients in achieving stated goals and objectives and meeting productivity protocol for therapy
- Provides crisis intervention and ongoing direct treatment: individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy based on client needs
- Maintains client files
- If client does not keep assessment appointment, follows up by phone, mail or email and offers to reschedule appointment
- Provides coordination of care services to patients including, but not limited to; liaison with the legal system or parole officer, or other outside medical needs in conjunction
- Facilitates the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), utilizing evidenced based program curriculum as well as incorporating individual service plan (ISP) goals of clients in to IOP treatment
- Works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary treatment team
- Performs intake, evaluation, orientation, admissions, treatment planning, counseling, documentation, discharge planning and referral of substance abuse patients
- Conducts confidential, quality assessments, that are gender-responsive and trauma-informed, utilizing Buena Vista Treatment and Recovery criteria to determine the appropriate level of care
- Communicates and integrates agency mission, goals, policies and procedures into daily practice
- Conducts chart reviews of current clients during group supervision as indicated/required
- Maintains confidentiality in accordance with State and Federal law, the counseling code of ethics and Buena Vista Treatment and Recovery policies and procedures.
- Creates and maintains a therapeutic and safe environment
- Develops and facilitates behavioral health therapy group sessions and educational programs
- Identifies opportunities for program improvement and quality Improvement
- Participates in continuing education to improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies and practices
- Ensures compliance with legal issues including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required
- Must possess Arizona State licensure or certification
- Valid CPR/First Aid and CPI certifications or ability to obtain immediately upon hire
- Level one fingerprint clearance card or ability to obtain one upon 60 days of hire
- Demonstrated experience working within the substance abuse/recovery field
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment methodologies and therapy techniques
- Must be willing to learn and ask questions, accept feedback and be accountable
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of HIPAA PII security requirements
- Be familiar with DSM 5 diagnosis
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Valid Driver’s License
Educational Requirements
- Master’s or bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or equivalent field of study. A Master’s Degree may be required depending on licensure
Additional Notes
- Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Public Health Administration, or relevant field preferred
Salary : $62,000 - $82,500
