The Nurse Director of the Operating Room provides twenty-four-hour accountability for coordinated clinical management of patients in the Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Central Service areas.
This position oversees the coordination of clinical activities and guides the delivery of safe, quality service. She/He is a resource, mentor and motivator for staff. The Nurse Director assures optimal patient care by serving as a liaison between personnel, administration, physicians, other providers, and external vendors.
Director provides supervision of personnel in the department. Works in collaboration with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the Director of Same Day Surgery/Endoscopy to provide continuity of care.
