What are the responsibilities and job description for the Care Coordinator Oncology / UR Nurse position at Buena Vista Regional Medical Ctr?
The utilization review nurse in the oncology/infusion center is responsible for evaluating medication treatment plans ensuring correct the correct diagnosis is present, researching insurance coverage, and completing prior authorizations as applicable. In collaboration with the social worker will assist patients to enroll in assistance programs to reduce financial toxicity to the patient and organization. Collaborates with the nurse and pharmacy director to schedule new patients to receive therapy. Assists in the infusion room during high utilization times. Takes call one weekend in six to administer medications as necessary. Plans and provides professional nursing care safely and competently to patients of all ages consistent with nursing department policies and professional nursing standards. Iowa RN license required. BSN preferred. Must have BLS within 90 days.
