What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager - Early Childhood position at Buffalo County Community Partners?
Summary
The Program Manager will be responsible in building community-based teams to leverage community impact. Will be a part of a highly functioning team. The Manager will report to the Program Director. Facilitate community systems of resources and services which strengthen families, builds protective and promotive factors and provides access to prevention resources. Work collaboratively with providers in the community to meet families where they are to assist them in moving toward sustainable goals.
Major Accountabilities
1. Performs work with a positive attitude that reflects sensitivity and commitment to serving the needs of a diverse organization. Performs all other duties as assigned.
2. Advance the mission of Buffalo County Community Partners, the backbone of the Buffalo County Well-Being Collaborative, by modeling collective impact practices and partnership building as a customer centered team member engaging volunteers in strengthening community well-being.
3. Hours of work include 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
4. Facilitate the work of community work groups by maintaining understanding of current implementation challenges and developing comprehensive solutions to address them.
5. Work with Director of Programs to connect partners to leverage human and financial resources, aligning resources and securing resources to sustain the system. Ensure volunteers have an active role and responsibility to the plan.
6. Align potential funding sources to support the community work group goals and priorities by writing grants, implementing programs, anticipating unmet needs and aligning outcomes to report to funders and vested interests.
7. Communicate the work of the Collaborative to the community and unique partners sharing a common agenda, mutually reinforcing strategies and data alignment.
8. Serve as part of a customer service team to the volunteers and donors by answering phones/emails, responding in a timely manner, engaging volunteers and organizations, seeking and naming connections or relationships to community efforts and making referrals.
Job Qualifications
1. Minimum of three years of work experience including one or more years of proven community outreach and coordination experience. Experience in Early Childhood preferred.
2. Maintain standards, carry out the purpose, and adhere to the policies of Buffalo County Community Partners, including federal, state and local grant policies and HIPAA requirements.
3. Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred; social work, behavioral health, marketing, organizational management, family studies, health promotion. Skills preferred: listening, openness, communication, organization, initiative, accountability, leadership, connectedness, trauma informed, diversity and inclusion informed.
4. Experience facilitating meetings or willingness to learn. Experience in lived experience and success in building effective teams is preferred.
5. Willingness to learn selected strategies and prevention curriculum, including 40 development assets, promotive and protective factors, and other evidence-based programs.
6. Ability to prioritize work, and meet deadlines as required.
7. Experience with or ability to learn Microsoft office programs.
8. Experience or willing to learn grant writing, community organizing, program budgeting, systems, organizational management, statistics, evaluation, and prevention programming.
9. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build authentic relationships with divers set of partners and people with lived experience. Bi-lingual skills preferred.
10. Ability to travel locally, in-state and out-of-state. Vehicle and valid driver’s license for work related travel.
11. This work necessarily involves sitting for extended periods of time, looking at a computer monitor and typing on a keyboard.
12. This work may also involve lifting and carrying boxes and other loads of up to approximately 25 pounds.
