Job Summary:
The General Labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products. Verifies material meets customer requirements and company expectations. The General Laborer reports to the Floor Supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
- Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
- Label material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count. Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Bands, bundles, and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
- Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
- Assists with other work areas by moving material and loading and unloading material carts.
- Participates in safety and other programs and meetings.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Manufacturing or lumber experience
- Working knowledge of basic math
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Stand for long periods of time
