Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Duties
- A fast-paced, growing eye care practice is looking for a Medical Assistant.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting our Doctors by pre-testing the patients using state-of-the-art equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Rooming patients
- Administering eye drops
- Greet patient and introduce yourself prior to eye exam in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner
- Support efficient patient flow, perform diagnostic care
- Provide staff support in a medical capacity; prescription refills and authorizations, answering patient voicemails/emails, etc.
- Inform management of all activities, needs and problems.
- Assist as needed with administrative tasks including checking-in and checking-out patients.
- Filing of charts
- Conform to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Operate basic office equipment; computers, phones, copiers, etc.*
Skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology, particularly in relation to PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) and OR (Operating Room) environments.
- Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings is preferred.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and managing patient care effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
