Job Summary
Buffalo Medical Group is seeking part-time NP or PA for Urgent Care Clinic.
Part-time schedule will be any combination of 4 to 12 hour shifts as needed.
Schedule will include evenings and weekends (definitely Saturday coverage) and rotational holiday coverage.
Urgent care, ED experience preferred, will consider primary care experience.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients. This includes all hospitalization reports, specialist consults and off site providers correspondence and data.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine necessary and appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed in a cost effective manner.
- Performs a complete physical exam and records findings.
- Works independently, (without a physician immediately in attendance), demonstrating sound and appropriate independent decision making. When necessary, will collaborate with PCP and other physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Orders, interprets and evaluates appropriate (without excessive) laboratory and diagnostic procedures, including EKG’s.
- Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention.
- Administers medications and injections according to necessity and plan of care. Sutures minor lacerations when indicated and appropriate.
- Performs Incision and Drainage when indicated and appropriate.
- Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment.
- Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.
- Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
- Manages medical and surgical emergencies.
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Provide a safe environment for staff and clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client status and care.
- Participate in health policy activities as needed at the local, state, national and international levels.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Will participate in worksite safety training programs.
EDUCATION
NYS NP or PA license required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $43.48 - $65.23 per hour
